  55. Confidence is the first word that came to my mind also. i've always enjoyed sewing and throwing together simple dresses. i've even been known to take a sleeve from one pattern and a skirt from another and mash things together, but i thought altering sizes and coming up with a professional tailored look was beyond me. my guys looked so sharp in their Marco and Ethans and i made myself a dress that i could nurse my baby in. Thank you so much, Carla!

  72. Where do I start when trying to say why I love SS patterns???
Comprehensive, consice, clear and thorough instructions. Everything explained in the minuetest detail. Loads of pictures and diagrams.
Carla leaves nothing for even the beginner sewer to fear, and her patterns are a delight to sew from.

  73. My grandmother taught me to sew years ago. I lost interest for awhile in my younger years. But I came back to it and to her teaching. Unfortunately, she passed away not long after. I have inherited her sewing room or the objects in it at least. I love the Scientific Seamstress because she uses the same terms and wording as my grandmother. It's like she's teaching me again. I can only imagine how homesick I will be for her when reading this book.
