Summer Fun with Patty Young!

Cuteness alert!!!  Patty Young of MODKID fame has just released a new book/pattern pack through Stash Books!  Summer Fun contains all the right elements to make your 18" doll a complete summer wardrobe.

I've known Patty for about a decade.  I first "met" her through eBay boutique when our kids were little babies, and then watched her blossom into a popular fabric designer with Michael Miller.  She has such a talent for fresh, colorful artwork and themes.  On top of that, she is absolutely meticulous when it comes patternmaking and instruction writing.  Her neat illustrations make the sewing process easy and fun.

If you've looked through the American Girl catalog, you know that little details are VERY important.  This packet contains patterns and instructions to make a wardrobe of stylish clothing and tiny accessories.  It really has everything you need to set dolly up for an amazing vacation.

Patty contributed an adorable sunhat pattern to my first book, Sewn Hats.  I was giddy to see the mini-me version in this packet, and I just had to make one!  It sewed up perfectly and quickly.  I tried the hat on several dolls, and it was a great fit on everyone from newer Mattel AG to old school Pleasant Company AG (slightly bigger head) and bald Bitty Baby.  My 18" doll from Adora modeled for the pictures.

Want to win Patty's pattern pack?  Leave us a comment about your doll collection.  U.S. entrants can win a hard copy or digital version, while international entrants are eligible for a digital version only.  For more chances to win, visit these other great blogs on the tour:

  34. My doll collection oh my, well I have 3 dolls that are mine from when I was young, 1 has seen better days, but the other 2 are almost like new so I don't allow my 3 yr.old daughter to play with them, she has her own dolls and they range from small to large, and they are ALL naked, except the one I took pity on and made a bikini for. SO I really need this book.
