On July the 7th out pattern hits the Road Trip Pattern Club!!!! It is AMAZING!!!! (I might be biased (and so is the pattern. hehe.) but I have made 5 of this pattern already and plan to make more! A summer staple and a good transition piece with a cardi in the fall!
To help you get ready for the pattern release I am going to leak a little info here,
For this pattern you will need 2yds of fabric for xs-s, 2.25yds for m-l, 2.5yds for xl-1x, and 2.75yds for 2x-3x. You will also want to make sure you like the look of the fabric on the bias ( folding diagonally to cut)

summer is my all time favorite season. I love the flowers and the birds singing and the fresh veggies. Let's not forget about the fresh yummy strawberries, the beach time and most of all it's my birthday. How many people do you know that get excited to be a year older ;)

When I was young, my grandma would make open-face tomato sandwiches for me. A slice of bread, a little mayo, slices of tomato & cheese, broiled until the cheese melted... And just a smidge of salt & pepper. Those accompany almost all of my favorite summer memories.

I love having the family reunion in memory of my Dad. I rent cabins for my Dad's side of the family and we just celebrate family the entire weekend. All of the kids start asking about it...sometimes as early as January (reunion is in August). I'm not sure who gets more excited though..I add more games and activities every year.
I love time with family, tending to the garden with my 6 yr old granddaughter and laid back Sunday's on the porch.
I love canning tomatoes & peas from our garden, making strawberry fig preserves from our fig trees. My son who at 18 has survived on PB&J sandwiches only eats Momma's homemade "strawberry jelly".

My 3 girls and I have tea/snack at our local lake everyday that we can. Picnic basket and all, love the late afternoon time in the summer!

Summer fruits are the first thing that comes to mind. I also love family gatherings and BBQs. I'll let you know how I feel about road trips, right now I love them, but we haven't left yet! lol
Spending time with family and seeing the excitement on my kids faces as the things we plant together begin to grow and yield yummy things! My 3 year old is especially excited about all the blueberries this year!

Every other summer we make a trip to my family by car. I am in Texas and they are spread from ME to VA. Each year we go by car we bring back a grand child so I am enjoying one of my grand kids for the summer!

Long days, some sun, a barbecue and fresh fruits, I'm a total summer fan. And yes, even when it gets really hot, the shade is perfect then. :)
The ONLY downer of summer I can think of, there's so much more to do than just sewing... ;) I tend to sew more in winter.
What I love about summer: camping! And dresses. (Not at the same time)
Favorite style: A-line. Most of the clothes I've made have been some sort of a-line skirt or dress.
I love watching the kids having fun playing in the sea - even the 11months old heading fearlessly into the waves... homegrown fruit and vegetable and a cool cafe frappe

Summertime! How do I sum up what I love most about it? Sunshine? Lazy days at the beach? Roasting Marshmallows? Celebrating the 4th? Eating strawberries off the vines? Laying in a hammock or lounge chair reading a good book? Lemonade? Flip flops, dresses, and skirts? Mint green and gold color blends (which seem to be so popular this summer and I am completely in love with!)? Yes, I love all of these best and more! Yay for Summertime!

I love having my husband home since he works 2nd/3rd all winter and majority of the year. It's nice to enjoy the sunlight and fresh breeze as a family.
