Portrait Peasant Perfection

Time to showcase another update! This time the Portrait Peasant is in the spotlight. The original eBook included patterns and instructions to make a "babydoll" style peasant with several different skirt options. Now, in addition to the empire-style bodice pattern, an elongated top-length bodice pattern is included. The sides of the new bodice are flared, and the base has a gentle curve, giving an a-line shape to the finished garment. Instructions for finishing the top with a hem or a ruffle are included. Here is a ruffled one that I made as the final piece of the baby gift I've been working on:

And here is the completed set:

I'm actually going to meet the recipient this weekend! I have a few other little things that I am going to finish up for her today. Babies are SO much fun to sew for (especially those of the female variety)! I just love making these sweet, ruffly confections. My funny friend T refers to this jumper/peasant/pants combination as the "Trifecta." In her honor, I've put together a new bundle pack with all of these updated eBooks.

I love it!!!!!!!! You may not know this about me- but I belong to a renaissance reinactment group (SCA). I confess that I have used your peasant dress ebook to make the girls chemises :).

Ok I have a question. Gathering long strips is not my forte and I get so angry with it. Can you tell me if I use the ruffler foot, what number I should put it on to do the ruffle for the stripwork jumper? Is it always the same? I have used it once or so with good results but not sure what number to use with pre measured stuff. LOL Thank you!!

The CarlaC Trifecta turned out absolutely gorgeous! I didn't know how to sew when Tessa was a baby, but I really wish I would have! I'll have to make a little outfit like this for one of my friend's babies.

I'm working on making a jumper for Tessa using the stripwork jumper bodice. I used the underlining technique and I really like the way it's turning out!

I'm a star!! LOL,a nod in the Carla C blog, I'm absolutely giddy! I am SEW glad you added a 6mo. option....you know IN CASE the new little one is a girl. I hope I get to make matching outfits for Little and the new nudger. Of course, if it's a boy......let's just not consider that!
It's funny, I just saw the bundle pack and felt COMPELLED to leave a review only to jump over here and see you thought of me while putting the pack together. And you said I'm funny!!! I'll be sure to let DH know-he has a different opinion.LOL!!!

Carla, you are the best! I've been making the peasant tops for DD lately and just had my pattern paper out to try and make the bodice/body all one piece- and there on your blog it says to check my library!! Wow!! Thank you so very, very much for continuing to offer new things, plus improve the old ones! I've learned so much from your ebooks!
